<< BackCAPTAIN'S MESSAGE ABOUT 2010 CANADA MATCHAs Captain of the Classic Eagles, I am excited about 2010. Our July 10th match with the Classic Canadians, in Calgary, will be our first and only step towards the World Rugby Classic in Bermuda. As in the past, this will for sure be a hard-fought contest between two good teams. Every summer we play the Canadians in an exciting match, and I am certain this year will be no different.
The Classic Eagles is a team that strives for professionalism, teamwork and commitment, and I am certain that each player in the squad going to Calgary will do their best to fulfill this mission. For many of these players it will be their first time representing the Classic Eagles, and I am confident that they will quickly realize how much of an honor it is to not only represent the Classic Eagles, but more importantly, their country. I welcome these new players to the Club, and expect that this experience will be one they will remember for the rest of their lives. But I also challenge each and every member of the squad, to prepare themselves both physically and mentally for a very high caliber, International rugby match.
We owe the Canadians, and there would be nothing better than getting the victory on their home soil. I am truly honored to be the Captain for the 2010 season, and will do my best to lead us to that victory.
Cheers,
Eric “Kid” Masterson
